DETROIT – A man and woman have been arrested after multiple shots were fired into a Detroit home with two young children inside. No injuries were reported. A preliminary investigation indicated that at about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, the two suspects — a 21-year-old man and 26-year-old woman — confronted a 23-year-old woman at her home in the 18800 block of Margareta Street and allegedly got into an argument with the woman’s 31-year-old boyfriend. Police said the argument allegedly turned physical, and at some point, the male suspect grabbed a gun from his vehicle and fired shots at the home. The suspects fled the area in a white Pontiac. Police said the vehicle and suspects were later spotted in the area of Sunderland Road near Outer Drive. Police said the suspects were taken into custody and a weapon was recovered. Police are still investigating the circumstance of the incident. Posted by JR

The guy in red was sleeping around with the pregnant woman for 3 years. The “dad” was explaining that he brought his lawyer to prove that she was in fact 6 months pregnant and not 4 like she had told him. He exposes the fat guy as being the one she cheated with him in a video. The “dad”introduces him as his friend and apparently the partner of another family member. Meanwhile the pregnant woman is asking him to talk privately and his sister (can only hear her in the background) tells “dad” that he shouldn’t have done it this way. The older man in red suit is the pregnant women’s father. He gets really upset and basically tells the fat guy why did he do that to his daughter (pregnant woman or the other chick might also be his daughter ). The guy in gray suit is the brother of the pregnant woman, the other poor girl or both (depending on the relationship of the two women). And yes everyone basically blames the fat guy at least in the moment. He seems to be a very close family friend. Posted by JR

“I want to ensure that I am respected and allowed to use spaces like Instagram, as many other creators do, without the worry of being censored and silenced.” While going on our Instagram feeds, we regularly come across semi-naked slender Caucasian women. Yet, things seem to be a little bit different, when dealing with coloured women, plus-size users and other marginalised groups. Following last August Nyome Nicholas-Williams’ controversy, Instagram and its parent company, Facebook, have updated their policy on nudity. Their new rules aim to tackle the discrimination experienced by many on social media, in order to ensure that all body types are equally treated. When it comes to nudes and sexual images, Instagram, like most social media platforms, monitors its content and observes certain community guidelines. However, recently some have alleged the social media algorithm and its policy to be inherently race biased and discriminatory toward non-conventional body shapes. The policy officially forbids “close-up of fully exposed buttocks” but also “bare female nipples.” Yet, on several occasions pictures of naked women showing their curves and bumps or covering their.. Chosen to represent the United States at the 59th Venice Biennal (23 April to 27 November 2022), US artist Simone Leigh will be the first Black woman ever to do so. The announcement came from The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. I encountered Leigh’s Brick House in the summer of 2019, in New York City. The monumental bronze sculpture was the final piece on the High Line, populated by travelers and local residents during the group exhibition High Line Art, curated by Cecilia Alemani—who is also on the ‘the first’ list, as she will be the first female Italian director of the Venice Biennale. Brick House is a 16-feet tall bust of a woman whose crown of afro hair is framed by the lines of cornrow braids: a commanding celebration of the beauty and strength of the Black woman in public space. Born and raised in Chicago to a family of Jamaican missionaries, Leigh’s artistic practice is informed by her training in American ceramics, combined with.. There is so much prejudice revolving around drug addicts, especially around crack cocaine users. Lost, hopeless and potentially dangerous, we rarely see them for who they are, human beings who, although prisoners of their addiction, love, dream and wish. Maíra Bühler’s Diz a Ela que me Viu Chorar (Let it Burn) is a fly-on-the-wall Brazilian documentary film capturing with empathy and respect the broken lives of a group of residents dwelling in Parque Dom Pedro Hotel, São Paulo. Given Bühler’s bachelor degree in social sciences and her MA in anthropology, one could have expected an intellectual piece analysing in a cold, scientific way the ins and outs of drug addicts’ lives. Instead, she proposes a humble human experience, deprived from hasty preconceived judgments. “I’m an anthropologist and I have always been worried when people call other people “non-human”. In São Paulo crack cocaine addicts are called zombies by the major media and common sense, and zombies are monsters, savages. The problem is that when people deal with others in these terms, human rights are not respected and that allows all.. Still today in many societies, becoming a mother is the most important accomplishment of womanhood, while the inability to conceive is still a taboo. Set in Jordan, Give Up the Ghost (2019) is a well-written emotional tale made by celebrated Jordanian female-auteur-director Zain Duraie. It narrates the quick disintegration of Salam’s marriage to her husband Ammar (Ziad Bakri) after she finds out that she is unable to have children with him. The story, which is told through Salam’s (Maria Zreick) eyes, approaches themes such as infertility, polygamy and family exclusion. Premiered at the prestigious Venice film festival in 2019 and dubbed Best Arab Short at El Gouna, in Egypt, Give Up The Ghost rejects self-victimisation and contradicts Western clichés about countries like Jordan. Straddling both tradition and modernity, Duraie’s film is an admirable and socially committed work, which incisively criticizes patriarchy in society. Police violence is a major socio-political issue plaguing numerous societies. Not only in the Western world, but in many African countries, where several protests have taken place. For those who work in fashion and photography, Alessia Glaviano should be familiar. Sicilian by birth and Milanese by adoption, she has worked for one of the most authoritative long-running publishing houses in the world,Vogue Italia, since 2001. Since she started at Vogue she has come a long way, supported in her aesthetic and social vision by both Franca Sozzani, the magazine’s iconic editor-in-chief until her passing in 2016, and by the current chief editor, Emanuele Farneti, who entrusted her with curating the aesthetics of the Vogue Italia brand. When mentioned among musicians, Meshell Ndegeocello’s name always sparks a certain sense of respect nearing devotion. Heads nod in approval and the conversation becomes a succession of examples and reasons why no one could or should say that name in vain. Being the first queer woman to appear on the cover of Bass Player Magazine, the bassist, songwriter, political activist, composer and ten-time Grammy nominee, Meshell Ndegeocello is credited with the conception of the neo-soul movement. Set in Trinidad and Tobago, She Paradise (2019) is a sensitive and empowering short-film made by Caribbean filmmaker Maya Cozier, and co-written with Melina Brown. It features Onessa Nestor in the role of Sparkle, a young woman desperate to escape financial woes by joining a soca dance crew. Praising the beauty of sisterhood as a way for young girls to enter womanhood, She Paradise immerses us into the vibrant soca dance culture, where glitter and sparkle are on the verge poverty. It is an authentic and sincere film that unpretentiously explores themes such as the complexity of femininity, sexuality and the hyper-sexualisation of young girls, and finally, sisterhood as being as valuable, or even stronger than brotherhood. In the beautiful shots, there is something about the general aspect of this film that reminds us of a retro 1970s aesthetic. Maya Cozier’s screenplay premiered at BAM’s 5th Caribbean Film Series, was featured on Short of the Week and was screened at Cambridge University for Black History Month. Marcellas Reynolds has been working in fashion since forever. Starting as a shop assistant, he walked the runways of London, Paris and Milan in the mid-nineties. Of his modeling years, Reynolds recalls heartbreaking moments, like being told by modeling agents that they ‘had enough Black guys’, while representing many white male models. Or being in markets like Milan and even Miami, yet barely working. “I loved the money, the people, the work, and the camaraderie male models share. And working with some of the world’s most handsome men like Tyson Beckford, Colin Egglesfield, Boris Kodjoe, and Jason Shaw didn’t hurt either!” This passion for fashion not only nurtured a prolific career as an entertainment reporter, TV host, and wardrobe stylist but also as a writer. It is in this last role that he wrote the 2019 Book Supreme Models: Iconic Black Women Who Revolutionized Fashion. Keiajah Brooks/Instagram The young activist went in on the city’s Board of Police Commissioners and now says officers from the department are harassing her. Keiajah “KJ” Brooks — a young activist who went viral after calling out members of the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners — now says officers from the Kansas City Police Department are following her. Brooks made the harassment known on her Instagram, where she posted several videos of a police car driving nearby her apartment complex. She also said the car drove past her photoshoot and followed her while she was trunk-or-treating. “I was sitting in my car today at 11:00 and [police car] 818 drove through my private apartment complex parking lot not once, not twice, but three times as I sat in my car to try to intimidate me,” she wrote. “There’s a public street that’s right there… You would not need to cut through here at all unless you live here.” Brooks claimed the passengers of the car included a white female officer, a Black male officer and later on a white male officer. “Let me just preface that I do not suffer from any mental illnesses or ideations,” she added. “I have no intentions or plans of harming myself or anyone else.” The young woman also said she had received multiple calls from an unknown number and believes this is how Kansas City police officers have been tracking her. “[Sorry] for the flood. but look how they did brother Fred Hampton,” she wrote. “[This] number has been calling me all day (6 times) TWICE when i was in atchison KS. TWICE when i was in mission KS. and TWICE here. and saying nothing. [If] you call it, there’s a long beep and silence. I’m pretty sure this is how KCPD has been tracking me.” In a later post, Brooks assured followers that she will not be intimidated and has no plans of leaving the city. “Let me make a distinction before I go on a social media detox until after the election. We walk by faith and not by sight round these parts,” she tweeted. “I’m not afraid of any threats, I’m simply making the general public aware. I’m not moving out of KC. I am heightening my security.” Brooks went viral after Tuesday’s (Oct. 27) meeting for calling Board President Don Wagner an “out-of-touch and disconnected old white person with nothing but pure apathy seeping through the bulging veins of his paper-colored skin” and demanding Police Chief Rick Smith’s resignation. “Fair warning, I’m not nice and I don’t seek to be respectable,” she began her address to the board. “I’m not asking y’all for anything because y’all can’t and won’t be both my savior and my oppressor. I don’t want reform. I want to turn this building into luxury low-cost housing. These would make some really nice apartments.” Since her posts about being followed and harassed by Kansas City police, many have donated money to her CashApp to help her hire more security. Busta Rhymes and Rick Ross | Video screenshot/Dre Films The singles can be found on Busta’s new album ‘Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God.’ Over the past weekend, Busta Rhymes liberated his tenth studio LP Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, a return to form for the New York hip hop legend that sees 22 tracks and a slew of assists from Pete Rock, Rakim, Kendrick Lamar, Q-Tip, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and more. Given the weight behind the long-awaited project, one can expect the accompanying visuals to maintain the same level of quality. Following previously released clips for “YUUUU” with Anderson .Paak and “The Don & The Boss” with Vybz Kartel, Busta delivers two more for the tracks “Czar” and “Master Fard Muhammad,” which feature M.O.P. and Rick Ross, respectively. “Czar” is directed by Busta and Benny Boom and begins with a message from an increasingly booked-and-busy Chris Rock, before the Flipmode veteran can be seen emerging from the waters after swimming with a shark. African and Arabic cultures are both referenced throughout, with additional cameos from T. Rodgers and Michael Blackson in the warrior-driven video. “Master Fard Muhummad” takes a less aggressive approach, with Busta and Rozay standing amongst the Nation of Islam dressed to the nines at a lavish residence. Shots of the duo’s performance is interspersed with a wounded child, who is eventually led to the artists and their crew for continued enlightenment. It’s a powerful message delivered with the help of the Maybach Music-associated entity Dre Films, which matched Busta’s multi-layered subject matter: “I thank God for the blessings of paths paved, as I journey through a jungle of lions so unscathed, until I speak in tongues when I visit my aunt’s grave/ And hustle like a genius with strength of a man’s slave, it gets deeper while he’s singing his praise, walk with me now…/” Press play on both “Czar” and “Master Fard Muhammad” below. AP People reminded Trump of his call to execute the Exonerated Five after he falsely claims Joe Biden called Black men “super predators.” President Donald Trump accused Joe Biden of calling Black youth “super predators” in a Tweet on Sunday (Nov. 1) and added that they would “never” vote for the Democratic candidate in the upcoming presidential election. “Joe Biden called Black Youth SUPER PREDATORS. They will NEVER like him, or vote for him. They are voting for ‘TRUMP,’” the president tweeted on Sunday. Joe Biden constantly used the term “Super Predator” when referring to young Black Men, according to my sources.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 1, 2020 Fact-checkers have shown previously that the former vice president did not make the statement, but that it was made by Hillary Clinton in 2016. The president also brought up the false claim at at a rally in Michigan on Saturday (Oct. 31). “For 47 years, Joe Biden viciously attacked African Americans. We know that. He shipped away your jobs, decimated the Black middle class, and flooded your cities with foreign labor, gangs and drugs,” he said to his supporters. “He openly called—and I think everyone knows this—he openly called young Black men ‘super predators.’ In 1994, the crime bill, he devastated Black families in places like Philadelphia, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Detroit.”— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 1, 2020 In response to the tweet from this morning and the rally, people were quick to remind the president of his call for five Black and brown teenagers to be executed in the 1980s, who were exonerated after being falsely convicted of assaulting a jogger in Central Park. This is Trump posing with his ad in the NYT calling for the execution of the Central Park 5. Young black youths! They were teenagers back then. Biden responded by mentioning the president’s treatment of the Exonerated Five, the five Black and Latino teenagers in New York City who were wrongly accused of raping and beating a woman in Central Park. “He talked about marauding gangs, young gangs — people who are going to maraud our cities,” Biden said. “This is the guy who when the Central Park Five — five innocent Black kids — he continued to push for making sure that they got the death penalty. None of them were guilty of the crimes that were suggested.” Trump ran full-page newspaper ads that called for the group to receive the death penalty, at the time but even after removing them, he has not acknowledged their innocence. After the debate, Kevin Richardson and Raymond Santana of the Exonerated Five took to social media to share their thoughts on Trump. “To the folks that’s still undecided about whom to vote for this upcoming election… Allow me to reintroduce ourselves,” Richardson wrote. “If it was up to Trump’s idea of calling for the death penalty and putting a bounty over my brothers and I head, we wouldn’t be here today!” “When Joe Biden calls out Donald Trump for wanting to give us the DEATH PENALTY. We were kids!! But we are still here,” Santana posted a video clip of the debate alongside the caption.

A post shared by Saturday Night Live (@nbcsnl) on Oct 31, 2020 at 9:06pm PDT This will be the comedian’s second time hosting the show. It is also the first time he returns to the long-running NBC show since making his debut the weekend that Donald Trump became President in November 2016. During that show, Chappelle took the high road and wished the former reality star well in his then-new role as president during his monologue. “I’m wishing Donald Trump luck. I’m going to give him a chance, and we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one too,” he said at the time. Chappelle won his first Emmy Award in 2017 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance on “SNL”. The hosting gig comes just days after Netflix announced the “Chappelle’s Show” would be available on their streaming service. The streaming giant announced on Friday (Oct. 30) that the popular sketch comedy series will be available to stream starting Nov. 1. In their announcement, Netflix included a video clip of some of the show’s most popular moments, including the comedian’s skits of him dressed as Prince, Rick James and Lil Jon. The 46th season of “SNL” has so far included hosting and musical appearances from Chris Rock, Megan Thee Stallion, Bill Burr, Jack White, Issa Rae, Justin Bieber, Adele, H.E.R., John Mulaney and the Strokes.
Getty Images “They will go down in history as having done the most despicable thing to their families,” Waters said. California Congresswoman Maxine Waters is expressing her disappointment with any Black Trump supporters. Waters appeared on the SiriusXM’s radio show “The Joe Madison Show” and shared her thoughts on why voting for Trump in the upcoming presidential election is a disservice to the Black community. “I don’t know why they would be doing it. I don’t know what’s on their minds, but if we don’t turn out this vote and turn it out huge, this man could end up winning again. And this country would go backwards,” she said on the radio show earlier this week. “The divisiveness that this deplorable human being has caused, the confrontation, the dog whistling to the right wing, the white supremacists, the KKK, and they’re coming alive,” she added. “They’re emboldened because they’ve got a leader who wants them to do it. What did he say to the proud boys? Stand back and stand ready? Ready for what—confrontation? Give me a break, Joe. I thank you. I know you’re on it, doing everything that you can. We’ve got to shout it from the rooftops—vote, vote, vote.” The radio host brought up an article that the Black men’s vote in Florida and other states could tip the election for Joe Biden, yet he says that it’s clear they are being encouraged to vote for Trump. “They will go down in history as having done the most despicable thing to their families and to their communities and to their mothers and their grandmothers,” Waters responded. “Because this man is about doing away with social security as we know it. And their grandmothers who are sitting there waiting on those social security checks every month or they couldn’t eat.” Recently, rappers like Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Waka Flocka and Ice Cube have expressed interest in voting for the politician in the upcoming election. The California Democrat wants Black men to know that if they are influenced in any way to vote for the Republican candidate, that she finds it “shameful” and unforgivable. “He’s a racist. He does not have any appreciation for Black people, and Black women in particular, he has talked about us so bad. He talked about John Lewis so bad,” she shared. “He has no respect for us. He’s not doing anything for us. And for those young Black men who think somehow they can align themselves with Trump, not only are they terribly mistaken. Any of them showing their face, I will never ever forgive them for undermining the possibility to help their own people and their own communities. It is absolutely unconscionable. It is shameful.” Listen to the full interview below.

Getty Images “Women are magical creatures and we deserve to be treated like a queen,” the rapper said. Saweetie wants fans to know that relationships aren’t about being spoiled, but rather, they are about being valued. The rapper recently went viral for a moment on an Instagram Live when she said that if a woman is dating a man who is not buying her expensive gifts like a Hermès Birkin bag or pays for her bills, she should leave him. “If he not getting you a Birkin, if he not paying for your bills, then throw that n**** back to the streets, OK?” Saweetie said, while her boyfriend, Quavo, stood nearby. Fans were quick to react and call her materialistic and shamed her for sharing that type of relationship advice with her fans. She was promoting her new single “Back to the Streets” featuring Jhené Aiko in an interview with Power 106 Los Angeles on Friday (Oct. 30), and she clarified her comment and said she didn’t mean for her fans to take her comments literally. Saweetie says if he can’t buy you a Birkin, you don’t need him, sis ‍♂️— The Shade Room (@TheShadeRoomEnt) October 23, 2020 “Well, you know, one thing that people have to realize is I’m an entertainer and I come to entertain,” the rapper said. “So that was an entertaining comment. Like Jay-Z says at the end of ‘Ignorant Shit,’ he goes, ‘It’s only entertainment,’ and then he does this little evil laugh.” “I was having a good time, promoting ‘Back to the Streets.’ And, you know, I’m popping my s**t for my girls. But I feel like a Birkin symbolizes a gift of value,” she added. She then continued to say that lavish gifts are a way for a man to show a woman how much he values her, and encouraged her female fans to be with men who treat them well. “But what comes along with being valued?” she added. “It comes with a healthy relationship. It comes with communication. It comes with getting gifts. It comes with being spoiled, because at the end of the day, we create life … Women are magical creatures and we deserve to be treated like a queen. So that’s what I meant by that statement … A Birkin is symbolic.” She is not encouraging fans to spend all of their money trying to show their significant other their love. “Get her a purse, get her some jewelry—of course, according to your tax bracket. I don’t want you to clean out your savings to try to keep up with social media or society,” she said. “It was a quick comment that represents how I feel women should be treated, which is showered with gifts, OK?” Saweetie is known to be a big fan of the Birkin handbags, and the “My Type” rapper even created an Instagram account with the handle @birkinbagbratz where she features her Hermes purse collection. Quavo, whom Saweetie has been dating since 2018, got her not one, but two Birkin bags for her birthday in July. Watch the full interview below.
AP The rapper shared a photo of his leg in a brace on Instagram. Drake is at home resting after reportedly undergoing knee surgery. The rapper shared a photo of himself in bed with his right knee in a leg brace on Saturday (Oct. 31), and speculation began that he had an operation. Although he didn’t explain what type of procedure he had, he shared the pic on his Instagram Story with the caption, “New challenge unlocked.” Fans quickly screenshotted the post, which he later deleted and shared it again but the second time he added a thoughtful message. Instead, he sent well wishes to anyone who faced some type of struggle this year. Others questioned how the rapper continues injuring himself. “Drake really got more knee surgeries than a veteran running back at this point. What that man be doing?” a fan wrote. Other fans took the injury as a sign of good things to come. “@Drake with that knee injury [actin] like it’s take care all over again man,” a fan tweeted. He celebrated his 34th birthday last week and rang in his new year by announcing that his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy will be released in January 2021. This isn’t the first time the Grammy winner undergoes surgery for his knees. In 2009, the rapper fell on stage during a concert and suffered three torn ligaments, and he announced to fans that he had set a date for his surgery. “In the studio … working on Thank Me Later … magic … surgery September 8th,” he tweeted at the time. “Then we’re back in business.” We wish the rapper a speedy recovery.

The singer took aim at the politician by dressing up as a fly, inspired by the moment an insect landed on the politician’s head at the vice presidential debate earlier this month. The “Good As Hell” singer showed off her costume with posts on Instagram on Saturday (Oct. 31). She got creative and wore a one-piece ensemble with wings and big bug eyes on top of her head. View this post on Instagram ….aaaaand we just gettin started. #halloween2020 A post shared by Lizzo (@lizzobeeating) on Oct 30, 2020 at 10:48pm PDT As millions of people tuned in to the first and only 2020 vice presidential debate between Sen. Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence on Oct. 7, viewers were distracted when a fly landed and stayed on top of Pence’s head. People took to social media to react to the infamous fly by creating memes and jokes and it quickly became one of the most talked about moment from the night. Whoopi Goldberg asked Harris about the fly during an interview on “The View.” “I have to ask you this question, Kamala. And it’s as silly as it gets, but it’s my favorite,” Goldberg said. “So you’re sitting, and you’re having this debate, and you look over, and you see the fly circling. Do you first think to yourself, ‘Uh-oh. I see it. Do I tell him, or do I finish making my point?’” The actress added: “Did you see the fly first or did you discover it later? That’s my question.” The vice presidential hopeful laughed at the question and responded: “Oh, Whoopi. Let me just say that I think we should get beyond the fly and fly away from this subject and move on.” “But I appreciate the question,” she added at the time.
